Bao Duong Athletic ScholarshipBao was a full time PSA Counselor at Lincoln High School throughout his career with the LAUSD. To say he enjoyed his role as a school social worker would be a huge understatement. Bao touched the lives of students from all walks of life at Lincoln High School. His love of sports helped to connect him with students, and he enjoyed coaching the girl’s basketball and volleyball teams, two of his favorite sports.
In honor of Bao's life and legacy, the Bao Duong Athletic Scholarship will be awarded to a young man or young woman who is determined to overcome any financial obstacle that may stand in the way of achieving their athletic goals. This student must demonstrate that he/she possesses the qualities necessary to not only strive to attain academic success, but also the discipline necessary to make a commitment to excel in extra-curricular activities for the purposes of becoming a well-rounded student. Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis throughout the school year with up to four recipients per school year. Nominating counselor must be a current APSAC member. Description: Bao Duong was a Pupil Services & Attendance Counselor who was very passionate about two things: working with students and playing sports. This scholarship will be awarded to a young man or young woman who is determined to overcome any financial obstacle that may stand in their way of achieving their athletic goals. This student must demonstrate that he/she possesses the qualities necessary to not only strive to attain academic success, but also the discipline necessary to make a commitment to excel in extra-curricular activities for the purposes of becoming a well-rounded student. Nominating Pupil Services Counselor must be an APSAC member.
